CODESYS is free of charge - and it will be in the future. Why does 3S-Smart Software Solutions now offer additional products in the CODESYS Store?
The answer is simple:
We will keep on developing the tool with improvements from which all users may benefit. But there are special requests from certain users we cannot ignore. Thus special libraries were demanded, or plug-in-tools for software developers coming from high level programming languages. In order to refund the effort for the development of those add-ons, which are in fact interesting just for a small group of application programmers, we introduced the CODESYS Store.
There is another reason:
We were regularly asked for certain standard examples and libraries. We often heard comments like: "It is not possible that I am the first one to program a 7-segment display library - there must be hundreds of similar libraries already be programmed". Thus the CODESYS Store is intended to be a distribution platform for such code, too. Thus if anybody of you has libraries, sample code or other handy software add-ons for CODESYS he wants to share, please to not hesitate to contact us under e store@codesys.com e . The big advantage: you do not need to share it for free! You can do so, but in case you want to have a refund for it, the CODESYS Store offers everything to do so, protection of intellectual property included with the use of the CODESYS Security key.
It is our main intention to speed up your work with CODESYS. The CODESYS Store is another offer into that direction.
