I'm not sure where you are based but I can assure you, Rockwell is winning the marketplace in the US. And, in all fairness, my opinion is that they have the best ladder editing and tag database software by a large
margin. In fact, I believe this is part of why the US has been very slow to adopt ST and FB programming. The Rockwell ladder is much more capable than any other ladder I have seen and there is rarely a reason to leave it.
That said, my language of choice is ST for most logic with Ladder driving the physical outputs.
I didn't mean to stir the pot (too much) but with a real lack of information provided, people are going to draw their own conclusions. 3S probably can't comment on this as the case is ongoing.
I have also glanced at the law suit and some of the patents cited and I must say most of them seem like they shouldn't have been patents in the first place to me. Most are issues that have been standard practice in general computer science and not novel techniques. The patents mostly focus on using these techniques on machine controllers which we all know, under the hood, are just computers. But, I'm not a patent attorney so this is all just personal opinion.
